Our Story

We started this journey because we believe in the power of legal knowledge. Law touches every part of our lives and we should be able to understand how it applies to us. It isn’t just about the courtroom or long, drawn-out contracts. For us, it’s about people—whether you’re a first-time founder seeking guidance on incorporation or a busy parent looking to understand online protections.
Drawing from experiences in government service, university lecturing, and private practice, we’ve built a platform that merges data science, AI, and hands-on legal know-how. Our goal? To remove barriers, demystify processes, and give you practical ways and tools.

Meet the Team

Alexander Joseph Woon

Alexander spent years successfully litigating complex financial crime and technology crime cases, and guiding digital transformation at the Singapore Supreme Court's Office of Transformation and Innovation. He has taught future lawyers at Singapore universities, played a key role in major cyberattack investigations, and regularly contributes to the public discourse with his clear and succinct explainer pieces in Singapore newspapers. Thanks to these experiences, he's honed a straightforward, and ethical approach to making legal processes more understandable and user-friendly.

Ian Ernst Chai

Dividing his time between New York and Singapore, Ian combines a programmer's mindset with his background as a former practising lawyer. Besides his former practice in technology law, criminal law, legal technology, and public international law, he's led innovation projects in government, developed legal information APIs, and taught tech-forward courses at a Singapore university. His belief in meaningful, human-focused innovation drives him to simplify complex legal landscapes through data science and AI.

Joshua Rene Jeyaraj

Joshua is a triple-qualified lawyer with deep expertise in APAC Tech Regulation, and a broad-based experience in both non-profit and business sectors. Over the years, he has not only contributed to legal policies in government and helped establish enhanced protections for harassment and various online harms - he was a major driving force in getting a school built in a remote area. A champion of responsible tech-driven solutions, he ensures that law keeps pace with our rapidly changing digital world.

From the start, our purpose has been to bring clarity to the legal realm. We know that the law can feel intimidating and opaque — but when information is accessible and support is empathetic, it can be empowering. By weaving AI-driven tools, streamlined research platforms, and well-structured guides into our offerings, we aim to help you find the right legal path quickly and affordably. We are not an AI-centric startup, though we are AI-forward: we will use AI when they are effective in solving perennial legal access problems, but not for the sake of hype.
